Do you know what 2.500 people on the deck of an aircraft carrier looks like?
Location: Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum, docked on the Hudson with beautiful, unhindered views of the city and of course our favorite neighbor, New Jersey.
Entertainment: Opening act Simon Herzog, a Columbia College rising talent that DJs many local shows and parties. And main act The Hood Internet, a mash-up duo who flew in from Chicago to make our boat party the best New York City event in the history of NSOP.
Security: Besides the regular Intrepid staff, we had ex-Marines and NYPD officers. This is serious business, we don't joke around!
And of course, the people that made it all happen: the NSOP Committee and Staff, Crew Chiefs, Orientation Leaders, First-Year RAs, New Students from Barnard College, Columbia College, The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, and General Studies, and of course, generous funding from the University and the groups and businesses who placed ads in our beautiful schedule books.
