Casa no Gerês, Portugal
It seems as though thecoolhunter is too busy with its corporate projects to post fresh material to its culture blog. The Cool Hunter Newsletter in my inbox this morning definitely contained some repeat posts. I wouldn't have necessarily noticed if I had not done a mini-presentation on Casa no Gerês for my Perceptions of Architecture class last Spring. I can forgive them though -- I really like Casa no Gerês,it's a great example of green architecture on a small scale. The house was designed to have the smallest carbon footprint possible, hence the narrow, rectangular floor plan and cantilevering. [click images for full size]
